intercooler swap

Post by Rick_J »

Hey guys,

Ive been browsing my pug parts CD and noticed that the MkII 406 turbo diesels (HDis) come with a narrow vertical intercooler. is there anyway one of these could be fitted to a MkI to avoid heat issues or did peugeot change the radiator design too much between releases. i would guess that the radiator and air con would be different but I cant find any difference on the cd. Anyone help?

its already got an intercooler, a much bigger one that was shared with the 1.9 and 2.1 td, why go to all that effort to fit a crappy HDi intercooler when you could fit an aftermarket one thats much bigger with better results

true, just wondered if it was easy. the one i had on my turbo was crap - sandwiched between air con and colling radiator and it lost all power when hot

well its a nightmare to get the intercooler out without removing the rad, and the HDi one is so small, you'd also need different pipework, like i said, your better off getting a much bigger aftermarket one
