F*cking scrotes!

Post by mjb »

I thought there was a lot of wind noise coming from the passenger door of my car this morning. Got to work and re-shut the door, even though the 'door open' light wasn't on. However I've just been for a drive and the noise is still there! Got out and it looks like some scrote has decided to peel the door open from the top so the top of the closed door is now sitting about 2" from the body, and there's a big buckle in the metal just above the wing mirror

Anyone breaking a D8 in dark metallic blue?

Sorry Matt, can't help you with a door. Are you able to bend it back as a temporary fix?

I've tried bending it back (after I persuaded the window to drop  ) but it just bounces back because I can't get enough force on it. I'm taking it to someone at lunchtime who reckons they can get it straight in 20 mins.

Fuckers, it's a poor mans way of trying to break in

The old golf Gti's N/P/R regs suffer with this as "they've" learned that the golf doors peel back very easily :frown:

Really sorry its happened to you m :(

Oh my god the bastards!

Maybe it can be put straight and the fold flattened out, topped off with a quick spray. Hope so anyway.

Btw the brown bears in North America learned where to push on the side window of a Beetle so it pops & they could get to the goodies inside, I suspect a similar menatality.

Well it's more or less straightened out. There's a buckle by the mirror which I'm tempted to give a hard whack with a hammer, but the important thing is it's almost sealed. I'm going to attack the top of the door with silicone sealant tomorrow to try and make the seal (it's emitting an ear-piercing whistle at 40mph). How long does that stuff take to set? I don't particularly want to seal the door shut :)

Be glad when I can move out of here!

I dunno, couple of hours? Depends how warm it is I suppose. I don't normally expect stuff I seal to move though :? Wouldn't draught excluder be better?

I reckon clear silicone would do the job, it's got a certain amount of give when it's cured. I'm guessing you've already done the job by now Matt! :)
