Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

How about if you post both numbers and I'll tell you if they're the same?

Should work fine; I put a set from a 2l GLX on my old 1.8 lx.
Do bear in mind that you'll lose the correct mileage for the car though!

Don't know if this is true, but I did hear that the mileage total is stored in the clocks & the ecu. (I think the idea is it 'restrore' the original mileage if you put a new set on). It seems this can lead to it adding the two together if you fit a used set
Can't prove this is the case but I'd advise checking unless you don't care what the total is, or you're trying to outdo bangernom1cs
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Not on D8's as far as I know (well, through personal experience anyway!)

It is a D9 thing. The mileage is stored in the display and the BSI
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
