I always buy stuff with a name since getting some "budget" tyres on my mondeo years ago, they were £40 each, pretty grippy in the dry but useless in the wet and wore out after 6000 miles

. All the branded tyres I had on that car lasted about 15000 no probs.
I went through a period a couple of years back of getting all my tyres off blackcircles or mytyres because the price difference was clear, good tyres for less than £40 and the garage used to fit them for £4 each (supply & fit price for the same tyres was around £65, so well worth the bother), but the last coupe of pairs the tyres had gone up to £45 and the fitting had gone up to £7.50, had this conversation with the local tyre shop and he agreed to do me Goodyears or Pirellis for £55 fitted, so all the buying them off the internet, waiting in for delivery, getting them fitted etc.... was no longer worth the hassle.
So I now have Goodyear NCT5s all round which are very nice, previously on the 406 I've had Pirelli P6000s (which I thought were great but others on here don't like) and Pirelli P7s which were good.
