Ordered the one for £29.99 plus £6.99 postage yesterday and today they email me asking for my Vin so they can confirm it's correct.
I was at work, so the misses emails them back, and when I get home I have an email saying, yes, you ordered the correct item for your car - YES I bloody know, I did the research including asking you guys !!!!
Just got to figure out the radio control arm now.
Some sites say there is one for the entire production years - both D8 and D9 - but from what I can tell, the D8 is plug is mounted under the column and has a shorter wire, whreas the D9 has a longer wire and heads down towards the fuse box - feel free to correct me if wrong?
And the plug has 4 holes for the connections and 3 are used, but it's a different 3 !!
I found this out when plugged new one in and had no control from the stalk at all.
On my car the wiring went white, red, blue, and the new one went blue, red, white.
I assumed the circuit board would be the same, so as the wiring was too long on the new one, and couldn't get the plugs apart, cut the plugs off and connected my old plug to the new stalk, but went white to blue, red to red, and blue to white.
I tried this tonight, and had all the controls working except the volume which altered the frequency of the radio ( yes the frequency option altered the frequency as well )
Obviously the circuit board must be different.
I could take the 2 stalks apart and check out the circuit board, but common sense just tells me to connect the relavant colours to their counterparts and try again.
I guess i've got time as it could be a couple of days for the indicator stalk to arrive anyway.
Went round a mate's as had my soldering iron stolen earlier in the year and haven't replaced it yet, to do the soldering of the wires together, and will just pop round his again tomorrow and try out moving the wires.
