heated rear screen help required

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

First step is to pull the connectors off the screen and see if they've got 12v going to them (with the switch on, and the engine running of course!).

If there isn't power, you're in for fun tracing where it's broken (try the relay!)
If there is power, try cleaning the connectors, else you'll be wanting a new rear screen
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Hi Wayne & welcome 8)

Connectors are at either end of the element printed on the glass.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Looks like it's a yellow relay in the interior fuse panel up above your, erm... whichever of your knees that's closest to a door :cheesy:

Greetings btw
