All fixed now and feels like a new car with a fresh set of ball joints, the steering is much tighter and hopefully the mpg should improve with a replacement injector. (Planning to send the old one away for a refurb if anyone knows a good, cheap place in the west midlands?)
Before anyone comments, yes, I could do all those jobs myself but as I paid £60 labour (mates rates) to fit cable, injector and 2 ball joints I'm quite happy, especially as I don't have a decent jack, axle stands etc....
On the down side he did forget to reconnect the turbo pipe, which I took the P out of him for but overall life is good again
