Pah, if only I could just "flick" the heating on :( Fetch wood, make kindling, screw up newspaper, cardboard, kindling, wood, turn the pump on... Back to the stone age

I've already run the heating here 5 or 6 times. I'm on the expensive stuff at home (heating oil :frown: ) but that won't come on until it drops below 12 (damn, I've only got 800 litres left too :( :( )

Just think how lucky we are Steve! My woodburner's steadily munching through the old kitchen etc. 8)

Much, much nicer than that nasty gas c/h I'm forced to use when apathy prevents me tending stove. :supafrisk:

I hope that's not chipboard in there 'cos I've read the glue they use is toxic when you burn it

Oh yes, I do love trudging out to the woodshed with a wheelbarrow in the snow :(

As a qualified assessor, I have carried out an environmental impact assessment and have determined that high-temperature incineration meets the requirements of BAT, (best applicable techology), in this instance.

(and before you ask incineration plant of net thermal input < 0.3MW is exempt from LAPC)

Thermal input? :?

Then again why should I give a stuff? I'm sure the neighbours were burning domestic waste the other day, by the stink of it :frown:

This sounds right up my street as I have been heating my house for the last 20yrs on anything flammable that I can scrounge from skips and hedgerows, best of all are the finest rainforest mahogany window and door sills divrted from landfill :cheesy:
No buttons for instant heating in this part of rural Norfolk.
The woodburner does all the hot water and rads FOC, great.

50-yr old oak gateposts take a bit of beating too.

Mine was running 14 radiators + HW and working its nuts off.
Now I've divided the house in two, it's just simmering nicely 8)
