When I was a teenager along side Fiat, who made boxy easiliy forgettable cars and Alfa Romeo which made tiny impracticable sports cars, there was Lancia. Lancia made fairly stylish cars, my own favourite was the Beta HPE:

the final models of which were supercharged. There was also the Thema 8.32, with its V8 32 valve Ferrari engine and who could forget the Delta HF Integrale? Sadly they all fell apart with the pox, so did Fiats and Alfas, but sales were so bad they stopped selling them in the UK.
However, they still sold them in the rest of Europe. Unfortunately design seems to have been handed over to some drunk who staggered in off the street.

I dunno who designed these hideous cars but surely there's a lamp post somewhere with his name on it...
