Peugeots aren't sold in North America AFAIK

406GTX was an ex-pat living in, (or was it on), Cognac. Not heard from him for a bit.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

it doesnt have to be marketed there though perhaps some american seen one and decided he must have it, brought it back and got antipollution fault up on the dash and then had to join here, asked one question stayed quiet until someone would discuss old members on the site and he (or she) would be revealed once again. You couldnt blame them for importing a 406 when over there especially since their equivilant of the 406 was a ford tauris and its not a sight people should have to endure.
The ford mustang wasnt ever marketed here but still some people want them, and theres the odd one knocking about.

Any french on here?

Amazingly, no, I don't think I've ever seen a member from France :? just shows you how much they hate the English (and we went to all the trouble making the best 406 forum too)

We've got members from Auz, Indonesia, Poland, some place called 'Ireland' and even someone from Croatia! - fancy that!

I don't think the French hate the English in particular (ok, there're the suits who think using the occasional English word is a baaad thing and stories about nautty French people refusing to speak in English*), they just have their own forums.

*What do you call a person who speaks 3 languages? Trilingual.
What do you call a person who speaks 2 languages? Bilingual.
What so you call a person who only speaks one language? English.

No, the French will have their own Peugeot owners' club forums (where French is the spoken language), and that's pretty much that.

To the best of my knowledge, French school kids are taught French as their first language and either German or Italian as a secondary language, and not English (whereas we are taught English as our first language and typically French or German as a secondary language).
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

Probably French buys more Citroen and Renault than Peugeot, where as Peugeots are meant to trouble export markets. Maybe to take revenge of old times??

Here it's mother tongue as first language, Sinhalese or Tamil and English language as the International language. German, French are optional languages. Though it's bitter for some people/nations, it has to be accepted, even once so reluctant Japanese have now accepted.

No idea about the rest of the 406 range, but 46.39% of all 406 Coupes were sold in France; the number sold there was 49,927 (out of the total 107,631 ever built). The remaining 53.61% were spread over various different countries (chiefly around Europe).

Actually, I'm told a single Coupe was exported to China, and a single Coupe (in Scarlet Red) was exported to the USA.

This is according to documentation from Peugeot/Pininfarina, which has appeared on the Coupe Club forum.
