Abs light
Did a handbrake turn today, and then the mfd said ABS fault and a light lit up on the instrument cluster, stayed on for a while and went back out, have done many subsuquent handbrake turns but this has not reappeared, could this be to do with the knackered rear wheel bearing.
Re: Abs light
I dont think the abs parameters were designed to cope with extreme sports in the snow
Probably to do with locked wheels not returning signals, and without the footbrake being applied the abs assumes that one of the sensors is faulty.

ididnt think the 406s were capable of pulling a handbrake skid,
how did you get your handbrake to be keen Enough, ?
Mines absolutly Sh%te even after new disks and pads

Re: Abs light
my handbrakes shite in normal conditions bar parking, but this ice is a great thing, ive been doing them non stop new disks and pads all round during the summer, and its been tightened in november before the mot test, hasnt really lost grip since.
Re: Abs light
This is correct. You'll also get it if you have the car in gear and engine running with the front of the car off the ground for the same reason.ianjoh wrote:Probably to do with locked wheels not returning signals, and without the footbrake being applied the abs assumes that one of the sensors is faulty.
I got it while getting some nice air once...

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
