Abs light

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Abs light

Post by FarmerPug »

Did a handbrake turn today, and then the mfd said ABS fault and a light lit up on the instrument cluster, stayed on for a while and went back out, have done many subsuquent handbrake turns but this has not reappeared, could this be to do with the knackered rear wheel bearing.

I dont think the abs parameters were designed to cope with extreme sports in the snow
Probably to do with locked wheels not returning signals, and without the footbrake being applied the abs assumes that one of the sensors is faulty.

This is correct. You'll also get it if you have the car in gear and engine running with the front of the car off the ground for the same reason.

I got it while getting some nice air once...
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
