I got my first graduate job!

Post by sockpuppet »

Hello everybody!

I was offered little enthusiasm by my student girlfriend, so i decided to come here for some loving.

I got my first job after graduating, and I now work for..... Peugeot! Hurrah!

This is excellent news for me as I get to drive any Peugeot I want (*cough* RCZ or 508*) but bad news because... I'll have to sell my beloved 406 :(

Send your sympathy to: Nic's Peugeot, SL03 KDV.

Well done!

I wish I could get in as QA and improve the HDi pedal sensors, MAFs and engine mounts, and the rustproofing.

good on you

Now that you're about to become a tax payer you can tell the tax dodger that if she doesn't show a bit more enthusiasm you'll withdraw all shagging rights until she bucks her ideas up

Congratulations.
What are you doing for them?
And why does the 406 have to go? Are they embarrassed by one of their discontinued products? :D

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

haha! ill let the woman know your thoughts!

im just a sales executive with graduate management fasttrack, which is pretty good as it allows me to drive all the cars in the showroom and things like that, with a pretty darn good salary/commission.

the 406 will have to go because im a 21 year old insuring a 2.0 car, which wont get much use when i have unlimited access to any of the demo cars!

Sounds like you ought to be driving a 3-series :P

Will the new cars have a hard act to follow after your 406?
Or do you think that the new ones are obviously much better?
Being completely impartial, of course :)

The downside is that you'll wave goodbye to any ncb you've built up :(

Wait until the money is rolling in, and then consider if its worth getting a very low insurance rated vehicle with limited mileage as a "fun car"... that is if such a thing exists with a very low insurance group.

but if after a few years working for and driving peugeots if he has a blemish free record he can take a letter from his main insurance company and transfer some across.

The problem is - Would his employers (or their insurance company) be willing to do that, particularly if he's no longer in their employ.

It could all be academic anyway, if Sockpuppet doesn't have any NCB.

its Robins & Day im working for, through in Gateshead so unless you travel that way I shant see you!

ill definately try and get my hands on a 508. as part of the company car scheme (which, to settle the dispute, allows me to build my no claims discount as i can take the cars home and use them as my own) im allowed to take any demo car home, which means ill always have an 11 plate on my driveway and it can be anything from a 107 (but im not a teenage girl) to an RCZ, so thats pretty excellent. its my first day today, and i get my first car today.

if i come home in a 508 ill be delighted, if i come home in a 307 ill go to bed thinking forlornly about my 406 sitting in the showroom car park.
