By the way, i'm a bit sceptical about it because, i feel that the sensor is slightly towards that big thing on the centre console, would it be a problem ? By the way again what's for that thing on the console ?

that wasn't my question, sorry for my poor english, i'll try to say in another words, the problem is, the sunroof console that have that glossy black thing next to the buttons and stuff, is in front of the sensor, so, even when beamed from behind the mirror will not dim because that glossy black this is making shadow to the sensor ...HimBigChief wrote:It'll work fine, I think it works off the difference in brightness between the two sensors anyway. The big lump of plastic on the windscreen covers the rain sensor for the wipers.
hi ! i do have a laguna like mirror, but i just swapped only the mirror and not the whole thing, i have tested but not like you say here, i putted one finger in the rear sensor and one in the front, and nothing happened.HimBigChief wrote:Cheers, may well invest in some of that stuff.
RayneR, yes it will work in sunlight. If you put your finger over the sensor on the rear of the mirror, it makes the mirror think that it's night and there's a car behind you.
Have a look on here at the pics of my dimming mirror. If you got a Laguna one like me, then the sensor on top works fine for the lights behind you.
hi, tested it, and the mirror is not dimming, the mirror was connected into one of the interior " minimum lights " , so when i turn them on the mirror will have power too, or i'm doing it wrong ? It was the garage that placed the mirror, or he didn't tested the polarity...HimBigChief wrote:It takes a couple of seconds to dim properly. If you look at the pics when I did it, I held my finger over the sensor on the back until the mirror dimmed.
Looking at your pics, your mirror looks to be higher up than mine as you've used the 406 mount whereas I've modified the Laguna one to fit, so you may be right with regards the sensor being blocked. Do the finger on the back test first though to check that the mirror is working and then test further from there.
