Fairly straightforward job, mark the pulleys with tippex.

The main thing is the tensioner, you have to remove it and check for play in the pushrod, you have to squease the pushrod back using a vice until you can fit a locking pin in the cylinder to lock the pushrod in the released position so that after fitting the new belt you can fit the tensioner in place then release the pin to tension the belt (there is a lot of pressure on the tensioner pushrod.)

Personally, if I see any play in the pushrod, I replace the tensioner.

That's it, I'm starting a movement to get the whole mod/admin team into Volvos (I'm seriously considering leasing a V70 :supafrisk: )

Well done Matt, and I'm glad to hear that the Mrs is on the mend.

You're driving it on a 10 year old cambelt? Hope it's a non-interference engine
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
