For goodness sake, why do people buy these genuine parts from there local dealer, never fit them, but don't bother to return it for a credit ??????

There are some strange people out there, oh well at least he will gain a fraction of his original purchase price back from the ebay auction, because he did purchase them once himself, oh yes he did.

160 on the speedo for a 90/110 is a bit optimistic ain't it? :)

On the 110 HDi it does indeed have 160mph clock. It obviously wont do that as its limited to about 130mph, which comes up at about 4,200 revs. 60 mph is 2,000 revs, 90 is 3,000 and 120 is 4,000 revs so in theory at 5,000 revs it should be capable of doing 150mph.

That is, downhill in a 150mph tailwind? ;) By that logic my turbo (4000rpm is about 100 in 5th) could do something like 180mph+, but unfortunately, it can't come anywhere near that with the wheels on the ground (apart from that nice long downhill bit of the M62*AHEM*...) however it seems a bit daft putting a clock on those models which can point out over 40mph over the cars top speed. The v6 only has a top end of 140 or so doesn't it?

My 2.1TD's clocks show 120mph maximum... and it does actually do 120mph... Full use of instrumentation :D

That said, I would LOVE those white clocks...

Are there any similar aftermarket dials around...? For 406's that is :)

The 'S' spec is very nice I think, completely different from the exec but in a more modern, sporty way. I like the S a lot.

Anyone got a piccie of these types of clocks or what cars were they on as standard?

Yeah I'm afraid cars don't stay standard very long with me ;)

Never tacky chav mods like Lex-arse lights (sorry to anyone that has them.) Sunstrips, LED washer jets etc.
Just engine and suspension mods and a few occasional tasteful interior improvements.

I just like to improve on things that came from the factory a little under-par :D

And what's a Welton panel when it's at home?

Sounds tempting already :P

Ahh.
Not a big fan of chrome tbh so I'll give that one a miss.
Don't worry Welton, your panel is safe from me :P

Just a quick question on changing clocks...

Why do the clocks store the mileage then add to the ECU mileage when changed?
Am I missing something here?

I mean I can understand the keys and radio being coded to the ECU, but the clocks??
:?

It's just an additional defence against clocking, so you can't put clocks from a low miler write off in a high miler shed for example. There are ways around it, just don't ask me what they are.
