And looking into the idea of getting a dog
I've not had a dog for over 25 years since I was at school
My wife's parents have always had dogs, and my wife really wants to get one and is trying to persuade me
We both work full time, but I thought I could take the dog with me to work and out in the lorry - i've been at drops before and seen other drivers with dogs with them
I need to lose weight big time, so having a dog means having to go on walks, and as such could really help me out.
As a newbie to the concept of having a dog, can anyone offer any good advice
Think the misses would like a collie or a labrador - i'm not into the idea of a status dog, and anytime a staff has licked me, it's brought me out in a rash which may be a coincidence with the ones that have licked me, but not keen to find out as I class that as a status dog also.
I should imagine it's a case of having a dog to your level of commitment - not wishing that to sound wrong, but in the sense in that, no point having a dog that needs exercising 3 times a day if you're not prepared to do it
and being careful of breeds with inherant problems - i.e. I know some breeds have breathing difficulities just because they've been bred a certain way
Thinking along the lines of getting pet insurance if we get a dog for those unexpected vet bills - is this a good idea???
Anyway, more in a bit, oven is beeping at me, as I make tea saturday night
