Well if it's white you have to remember that the normal highway code no longer applies while behind the wheel! :)

Tottally worn out after 300 miles in this today! But without a doubt the most fun I've had driving in a long time!
I'm also pretty sure its as fast as my HDi90 too

What I will say is I'm a shortish lad, with long legs but a short body. There was only adjustment on the seat.
To reach the steering wheel I had to put my seat quite far forward, then put the seat up high so I didn't squish my legs to much, but also ment I couldn't stretch. Was quite uncomftorble.
The indicators are totally out of reach from the steering wheel and I REALLY DO NOT NEED A CAR OR VAN TO TELL ME WHEN I WANT TO CHANGE GEAR

Also it seemed to loose traction way too easily, once this morning comming off a roundabout at about 1/3 throttle. Then again by Pensylvania near Bath commign round a sharp bend the inside wheel span, again with very little throttle. Then changing from 1st to 2nd at the severn bridge and it lost traction again. Although every time was when the van was completley empty, so think it's more to do with the fact it was RWD with no weight over it

Either way, good fun :cheesy:

I used to like driving the 5-cylinder Sprinters they used to do. I had the back end step out in 3rd gear quite a few times :P

How does it tell you to change gear? not a buzzer/bleep surely?

Little green arrow on the dash. Thing is it wouldn't take into account if you were going up hills, so if you were at 30mph doing 1,800rpm in 4th it would tell you to change into 5th weather your going uphill or not.
Also it wanted you to be around 1,500rpm all the time. And sometimes you just seemed to be labouring the engine. It did have torque from like 1,300rpm onwards! Was quite impressive I have to be honest. Really good engine.

Also had assistive hill start! What an awesome invention. I hate electronics medaling with things but this was great! So you stop on a hill with your foot on the brake. A little light comes on and you get let go of the brake pedal and it will hold it there so you can concerntrate on the clutch and accelerator! Was also pretty imprssed by that.

Sam the 115 bit is the bhp so yep it'll feel about the same as your car.Transit's used to be 'the king of the road' but the not up to much these days
Welly the sprinters these days have t/c on them which is way to sensitive, not only cuts the power but brakes the other wheels to slow you down....nightmare now

Yeah I know the 115 is the power. Was quite impressed actually.
But it did feel a little wobbly on the motorway I must be honest. Kept around 65mph, after 70 it started feeling a little loose. Was doing 70-80 miles to 1/4 of a tank with a tank costing around £110 to fill up from empty so abit crap really.

The TC was alright, seemed to gradually cut the power, not chuck it off in one big lump like most do.

I've got a Peugeot Boxer which is the base 100 bhp with a 5 speed,it's a bit of a rough ride but it does the job(just). Before that i had a 55 plate 2.5 Vauxhall Vivaro with the 6 speed box, what a machine that was,it would cruise at a ton all day with no effort whatsover and was the only van i've had that would keep with a merc sprinter off the line and sometomes get ahead, after i'd done 170k miles it was just about worn out but it was on the original clutch/gearbox and it only broke down once when an aux belt came off.

You call that huge? They come bigger than that these days. My old Sprinter was the old long-long wheelbase (with the 3 rectangles at the back) & even with just the 100bhp engine it was fast as hell. Bloody loved that thing. Think the Sprinters started going downhill when they started making the ones with the gearstick on the dash. Everything just seemed cheap & nasty in them whereas mine was pretty solid all round.

I prefer driving my work Sprinter than my 207 sometimes. I love it, no other van on the road can keep up with it thanks to its 3.0 V6. About due for a new one now its done 184k.
Agree with the traction control its a massive pain especially when towing three tonne on an icy/muddy road. You knock the system off but its not really off it will spin the wheels for a while but eventually bog down and stall. Still its better than a Transit. Actually id like a drive of the 200 bhp Tranny they do now.

never understood why you cant switch it off properly
The Transit cab is TINY in comparison to the sprinter

I got a LT35 LWB Hi Top as my other set of wheels, love driving it all over the place, huge presecence on the road, see things more than normal as its high off the ground!

I find my van so easy to drive and move round objects, might be big but really easy to control!
