That's crazy. I'm in the same situation as yours, but luckily for me the car I use is my father's really, and he can pay only 300 pounds a year (which I pay of course, like for all the maintenance), while I'd have to pay 1000+.Bailes1992 wrote:Welcome to my life.OdinEidolon wrote:Bailes, looking at your spritmonitor... 3 grand of insurance?Bailes1992 wrote:I've gone from 35mpg average to 47mpg average...

My sister is learning to drive in July. We worked out if she passed her test yesterday, and it was her 17th birthday yesterday they treat her as the same risk as me.
Bear in mine I've been driving for 2 years and am now 19.![]()
I've said, insurance prices are rediculous (The quivalent of £50 a week!) and if diesel goes any higher than 150p a litre I will be hanging up my keys, handing my notice in and going on the dole.
I need my car for work, I could get told today I need to be on a site 150miles away tommorow in the middle of nowhere.
I spent 3 months in Bleanavon(Middle of nowhere 50 miles away from me. Where men breed with sheep! Sort of place DaiRees comes from!) which I worked out if I used public transport it would take me nearly 4.5 hours to get there and I wouldn't arrive at work till almost 1pm. I would have to leave work at 3pm to get home for 8pm. It would cost me £30+ a day!
Apprently because I am not in a fixed place of work for more than 2 years at a time I can claim business mileage or something (40p a mile). The boys in work are going to put my onto the accountant they all use.
