Only if you get your tyre sizes wrong. You can increase the size of the rim without increasing the diameter of the tyre - means you have less rubber between road and rim (so the ride is a bit rougher) but there is basically no change to your speedo.

I went from 16in Peugeot Hoggar alloys to 19in Mille Miglia T12 alloys. The Hoggars had 215/55/ZR16 93W tyres fitted while the T12's have 235/35/ZR19 91W on them. The rolling radius is 0.7% larger on the T12s, meaning there is less than 1% difference to the speedo reading.

Personally I wouldn't go for 19in alloys again, the ride is a bit rough and tyre prices are a bit high - but the suspension components in my car are still stock, so I still have the soft springs/shocks that give the 406 most of its comfortable ride quality. I only jumped on the Mille Miglias because they were cheap (£240 from Ade1122, including tyres and delivery), had previously been fitted to a Coupe, and didn't look horrible (like so many after-market alloys do).

You could go to 18in wheels without much trouble.

Those alloys look the part highlander, really suits the shape of the coupe vs the Pug standard items.

I like multispoke ones like that and the Fox competition items.

I got my coupe 'starfish' (no idea of the proper name) for £120 with no scuffs or scratches and 4 very good Dunlop SP Sport 251 55 16's on. In fact I was only really looking for tyres when I spotted them and they looked a shed load later than my steels with cracked trims.
Wouldn't fancy going much bigger than stock tho due to tyre prices and lower profiles putting more strain on suspension components.
Sister in law had an astra with 19" rims that ate wheel bearings.

Mind you 406 suspension never develops knocks does it so I guess that doesn't matter. New drop links anyone ?

Every time I've found them on an official Peugeot brochure they've just been called "Coupe".

There was a set of alloys on the 406 V6 model that was imaginatively-titled "V6", so I guess "Coupe" is probably the proper name for the Starfish wheel - but everyone calls 'em Starfish anyway.

Great looking alloys there highlander, the multispoke is what i like about them, and they show off the brakes a bit more.
I was in derry/londonderry the other day (you have to see the place every other car is a 406, i seen a lot with nimrods and fancied something a bit different)
what do you think of these ones:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-16-TSW-4x1 ... 530wt_1144
is it possible to get peugoet centre caps?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-SILVERSTON ... 013wt_1378

if i was to get 16inch alloys but did it so the rolling diameter is the same will it affect grip/handling?
