Alternator Bearings

Hi All

Looking to put new bearings in my alternator its a bosch/valeo part no 9640878780 but cannot find anywhere that will tell me what size or part no is required for a replacement can anyone help? i cant take the alternator out to check as use the car daily

According to your part number if you go to a normal bearing supplier you will need a 6303 bearing and a 6003 bearing SEALED type.

Available on Amazon or Ebay as well as all bearing suppliers.

Sorry, you need the sealed type , i posted the wrong links.

I can find out tomorrow about the size of the splined tool, I used one last week, I borrowed it off my mate who rebuilds alternators.

I managed to get hold of my mate....the splined tool is 17mm.

The correct tool has a sleeve that fits over another part so you can hold the alternator shaft whilst you tighten up the bolt....the splined part needs to be mega tight.

No idea, very tight...I had a pulley come loose on a customer's car, aux belt flew off when the pulley flew off, tightened it up with that tool as tight as I could get it, it didn't come loose again.

Mine goes up to 230nm which i guess should be enough thanks though much appreciated
