Or maybe some sort of reduction gear so they're slowly turning all the time (one revolution every 8 weeks say). You could even use a gerbil for this.

The Pug's tyres are on rims and on a stand so they're all held horizontally, separately, supported in the middle of the rim and covered over with a big bag thing that's light-proof. The Toyotter's, on the other hand, are off the rims, vertical in a row and covered by the worthless tyre bags mentioned above, although before that they were in a big heap in the corner
