Idiot... I think that would be the master clutch cylinder. A pain in the backside to change as there's no space to do it at all! Part itself is cheap though...
Master cylinder is under the clutch is it?

If I am understanding correctly, the rod that is pushed by the pedal snapped? That's the master cylinder there. Or is that something else?

Yeah, that's it... Sits right behind the clutch pedal behind the bulkhead.

I think you'd be wise to replace the clutch if the car is ok otherwise (and if you like the thing in general).

If you put the reg no in this website they will give you an fixed offer. I used them when I scrapped the 306 and the guy turned up with the cheque for the amount stated. http://www.cartakeback.com/
As to the DMF, surely it is poossible to get a solid flywheel from a scrapper that will fit.

Just tried putting the reg for the breaker in and it came back at £85!
Now I know it was a couple of years back when I last weighed a 406 in but I got £180 for it and I'm expecting somewher near the £150 mark for this one even after removing the bits I want to keep.

Nope, It's got a 2.0hdi though. (Not that zaffy's have hdi's but you get me drift)

Gumby It came up at £114 from a place called Pengam partmart through that link... But partmart have their own website to get quotes and mine comes up at £154.

Not sure if there's one near you but try this.

Well done, I have an 01 plate in red. Will ride better than a 406 but doesn't handle quite so well - not that it bothers me as I rarely do more then 60 mph.

What's it like on fuel? figures look close to the 406 that's one of the reasons i got it. Mine is the 110 vtr whatever the vtr means.... I pick it up in the morning.
