I havent done much to the 305, everything is sitting ready to blast, i even bought a few bags of glass beads which are seemingly better on cars than sand. But its just a case of getting money together to do it, but i put the old GTX through the MOT and it passed, and installed a pair of cheap ring spot lights on the front
There are some issues ive noticed, the brakes are sticking the rear ones are all new and adjusted correctly so it seems the front callipers are sticking, a bit of disassembly will show whats wrong, the engine isnt exactly the ball of fire i was hoping from a 1.9 to be honest the old automatic with kickdown actually would keep up with it in its current state, part of the reason is possibly that 2 cylnders are down on compression with 150 bar, 160bar, and the other two have 180bar, it doesnt loose water or use oil so its not really a worry, the problem is that it misses due to the worn dizzy cap, and rotor arm, and the old looking ht leads, all easy to change and they might improve things.
I was mulling the idea around in my head however, this wont happen until the s5 is finished but what sort of engine is the 2.0 EW10 engine? If a DW10 fits into a 305 surely this would? Do these give any trouble, any particular areas or sensors that wear out, and would the catalytic converter be easy to remove from the ecu map?
