I've been with the AA for 21 years, this year I threatened to leave so I got a loyalty-type discount but there was still a small increase. It saddens me how these previously respected organisations now do the whole "go online for the best deals" thing and offer only new customers the best deals, what about your loyal existing customers?
Sure I've got the 'Gold' membership well whoopie I've never even bothered to look at how that helps* I know there's some kind of key insurance but that's not a gift is it, I PAY for it. I don't know about anyone else but I've never lost a key in my whole life it's one of those things we key an eye on when we're out and about.
So anyway next year (or even now if the penalty for leaving isn't too much) the AA can jam it, such a shame but I won't be treated like a idiot any longer and someone else can have my money.
In 21 years with the AA I've used them three times:
Honda - distributor failed leading to spectacular CAT melting episode on the A1 late at night
406 - fuel lift pump failure
406 - broken spring
That's it just three things in 21 years.
And we're swapping the MIL over to Green Flag today, she's been with the AA for a long time too.
