2008 207hdi110

Post by alanf406 »

Slightly O/T but my daughter has the above car, its recently become a intermittent poor starter, I think there is a small air leak and the fuel runs back to the tank over night, I want to fit a NRV as I don't think the one in the priming bulb works, my question is does any one know the internal and external bore of the hard plastic fuel lines used in the later pug's.

Don't know anything about this particular car, but on 406's without lift pumps the culprit is usually a tiny leak at the filter. Not enough to leak diesel but enough to let it drain back to the tank. Try reseating the fuel filter lid or changing the filter if that gets you a new seal.

2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

The filter is a sealed unit, I fitted a new one just for the reason that you say, the priming bulb is quite hard and difficult to use (in a v awkward position) so my intention was to fit a NRV and a new priming bulb in a more accessible position, possibly with some clear pipe as on my 406 but its knowing the pipe size to make a good air/diesel tight fit.
