That's bollox and tbh you should be able to find something within the Sale of Goods and Services act that covers you.... Then Natwest have to pay out! :D

Always got to use that Act for anything you have PURCHASED.... goods, services, insurances etc,......

erk!

Can you not just get someone to botch it (ie a roll of polythene sheet and some duct tape) until you can find a more permanant solution? At least it'd keep the water out for a bit...

Sucks to hear about the roof! - Slate allways costs a bomb to fix...:(

Not many slate rooves in Sydney due to the age of the housing stock here - alot of it was converted to Terracotta back in the 1930's, a shame really because Slate sure does look cool...you still see a bit of it in the inner city!

We got a really bad hail storm in Sydney back in 1999 - I remember alot of people had tarpoulans over their rooves to keep some of the rain out...I'd suggest getting it fixed ASAP as there is alot of wiring in the roof, wouldnt want to cause a fire if water is getting in there!!!

As for beer - You should come to Australia for a beer tasting weekend.....

Beer and Cricket - The UK Loses again! :cheesy:

Supa, welcome back 8)

Your roof - I would go down the housing grant route. Your local council will be able help here, there may be a lot of paperwork and proof of income etc but I'm sure they will be able to do something and also they will be able to procure a *proper* contractor.

Then, when it's all fixed we'll all be round for tea and cakes :P
