Airbag light problem D9?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Airbag light problem D9?

Post by ThePrisoner »

Was just surfing ebay when I saw a fix for the D9 airbag light problem.

If your airbag light comes on the dash for no reason, and wont go out try the following;

Aparently under the drivers/ passengers seat is a plug for the airbag and moving the seat back and forth makes the plug lose. Try pushing the plug/s together and the light should go out, (common fault) dont know if 1 plug does both bags but locate it move it about if the light goes out there is your problem.

If the light dont go out, then its probably your airbag, who knows!

I've 'fiddled' with me plugs/connectors at least 4 times now and the light always goes out after :lol:

Imagine how many poor sods book into the dealers just for them to do a bit of 'fiddling' for 2 minutes then charge you an hours diagnostic/labour :x

well we have to make money somehow Welly :cheesy:

toot, what usually happens on the blingo is the heater matrix leaks and runs down the carpet and shorts out the connector under the passanger seat, this is what happend to my dads one, though im sure the light will flash if its the seat belt pretensioners on a shitroen

well if the airbag light flashes im sure it means the pretensioners are disabled but the airbag will still (or should) function in an accident

if the light is on both are disabled, but if you dont wear a seatbelt the airbag will do more harm than good

Fixed it :cheesy: Once i had draged all the crap she had under the drivers seat i just messed about with the wires and the light went out.

All i got was thanks, not even a golden nugget graced my palms :frown:
