Just thought I'd add to this thread as I've just been quoted £200 for a full service inc. cam belt - thats for a 99 plate 2.0 16v. (All filters inc. Pollen, oil, aux belt, plugs/leads etc..). I've already found brand new genuine pug water pump for £30.
I only paid £1300 for the car so if I got a bill for £1200 I'd be selling it ASAP on ebay!
dont you know any mechanics?
like i was told on my post... http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/
are dead cheap on parts,
i was quoted £89 for water pump and cam kit, think thats pritty good myself, (2.1TD)
Becks in Hove (directly south of london on the coast). Mines a saloon but I can't see how it can make that much difference. Don't know if that includes all the other parts replacing (pulleys or something was it?) They wanted £500 for a clutch though last time I asked!
It certainly seems like a bargain - though I was under the impression that the rollers/tensioners needed replacing at the same time, so said the parts manager at Peugeot.
ok peeps, just found out something,
these garages tend to use the cam belt kit... but this kit dos'nt contain the bottom end bearing, aparently.
as these cost a bomb alone. is everyone getting the WHOLE job done right??
