The 'who's made the best temporary filler' thread

Post by steve_earwig »

:cheesy:

Here you go, one coke bottle (actually, I think it was a Bob's) with the arse cut off, a few feet of insulating tape and Robert will be your father's brother.

Also, the obligatory jameslxdt "I live on a hill" shot :P

Please note SUNSHINE! Sorry my car's a bit grubby, it's my own fault for not washing it since Saturday

I can't see any point to it so it's back in my garage. When the time comes to sell I'll stick it back on and it'll still look brand new (even of the rest of the car doesn't),

Indeed. Incidently I was giving the alloys a wash earlier 'cos winter tyres are a bit silly when the daytime temperture's 20+
*also realises welly's temporary filler bottle is hopelessly flawed requiring a 2-person effort*
I've got no option, unless I ask my other half for help (and have to spend half an hour explaining :x )

I changed them to 640x480 to spare everyone the "huge file downloading for ages" syndrome.

Just for you:

Ha ha ha I didn't notice to tinned doggy chumps in the first pic 8)

Anyway, without further adoo.....(pics taken last nght in haste)

Here is the Welly Patented 406 temporary filler/expansion bottle header, It's a 1 ltr 'Buxton Spring' water bottle with patented large filling/dosing port neaty cut from the bottom end:

Image

Here, we can see the patented EDPM rubber connection module with water tight anti-splashback deck for extra security when filling:

Image

Notice the unique design fits effortlessly over the car's header tank ready for filling (two-person operation recommended)

Image

Finally, I use one of these from the Kitchen to remove excess coolant from the header after venting:

Sorry to piss on your cornflakes (again) but does that mean someone has to stand there holding it all the time the engine is running?

Excuse me Sir, the Patented anti splashback EDPM seal requires a little downwards pressure to maintain an effective water seal whilst filling the system. Unlike 'other' makes of bottle which rely on sticky taped joints.

Yes, have to admit the turkey baster went 'missing' from the drawer after I used it
