Dash lights
Im planning to change my dash lights to blue...Do i just need to change the bulbs to blue ones? also what do i do with the bulbs in the centre console...they hard to take ou...help appreciated

i wouldnt change all of them i tried that and because the leds dont throw light alover the place more of a beam and you get dark areas i just changed a few so the needles are different you can just make them out will take better one when its dark

Them blue needles look great... Where did you get the wee bulbs??? off ebay or something?

I have also done the blue dash look but the led bulbs that you get are not that suitable for pug dashes so there are 2 things you can do.First is to scratch the end of the led bulb,this will difuse the light pattern and avoid the burn effect.The second is to buy off ebay, blue leds with the wires attached and place these inside the clocks.The effect is that you get blue dials and all the background in blue and its looks awesome at night.
And if like me you have a missus that also has a 6,you will be asked to make her dash glow Purple,which also looks great.

i did the blue thing on my old fto which wasn't too bad to get behind dash (clocks were a pain though - got some one else do) how easy is it to do on 406, just bought today and is a bit red for me hehehe

It''s just about pulling out the cluster, clock and air-con controls - The globes are just the twist type and come out with a small flathead screwdriver! It's not a hard job, just a process of assembly and reassembly - nothing too difficult.steveleyland wrote:speediepug

Be very careful with them, they are fragile and with age will crack if not worked out gently!
