Seat memory not working

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Seat memory not working

Post by Ritchie »

I can’t seem to overwrite the settings in the seat memory on my 1.9TD exec

It will move to setting 1 or 2, but I cannot change either of those settings from how the previous owner had it. I have tried doing what the manual says pressing the M button and the number I want to change alternately until I hear the beep, but I never get a beep

Any ideas where I should be looking for a problem? :|

I haven't changed the settings on mine for 6 years, and I cant be arsed to go and check the book so please excuse me if I'm talking shyte, but I thought the procedure was to hold to hold down "M" and then press and hold "1" or "2" (while still holding "M") until it beeps? Give that a try.

The procedure is: move seat and mirrors THEN press and hold M and 1 (or 2) together until it beeps.

To recall a position open door and BEFORE you put the keys in the ignition press briefly which number you want. If you have the ignition on then you have to press AND hold the number button until the seat and mirrors complete there movements in full (a brief press here will just sort the mirrors only).

Holding the M button down and pressing the number I wanted worked a treat… thanks guys. :cheesy:

The manual is misleading. It says to "simultaneously" press the buttons.

Simultaneously means "at the same time" dude, in the first post you said "alternately" which is "taking in turns". Not the same thing at all
