indicator stalk,com2000
hi guys,i own a 406 2.ltr hdi 2002,its been in the garage today to replace the com 2000 but it was the wrong one,has anybody got any ideas where i can get the right one for my model and how much roughly am i going to get ripped of.It has the usual symptons of indicating right and once ive turned right the left indicator comes on and occasionally the headlights come on to,before i go can anyone tell me if its an m.o.t failure, thanks guys.

ebay's probably your best bet - they're not cheap from dealers.
I wouldn't take it through an MOT without getting it sorted

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

About £140 from the stealer. Have seen them for about £100 on ebay but then it's down to you to make sure you get the right one, and I believe there's loads of varieties. Also looking on service pox (when I had access) the original part number for mine has been superseded, hopefully to fix the problems!
I've been promising my car a new one for years
Mine's never been a problem on the MOT but it's only doing the left-indicator-coming-on-when-straighenting-up-from-a-right-turn thing and not the headlight thing or anything else, although it did refuse to let the left indicator work at all for a whole day a couple of weeks back

Re: indicator stalk,com2000
Is it not possible to "service" these stalks? When my old style stalk stopped indicating, teamster suggested a fix for it (plastic notch inside broke off), which I've done successfully. Seems like a lot of a money for a couple of switches. Or is it the com2000 electronics inside that fail?

Hi,
I also have the same problem too.
These stalks are crap compared to the D8 switchgear and a needlesswaste of cash.
Its like learning to ride a bike again as you try and cancel the winker before the steering wheel does it for you.
Learning to live with it for now...
