indicator stalk,com2000

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

ebay's probably your best bet - they're not cheap from dealers.

I wouldn't take it through an MOT without getting it sorted

About £140 from the stealer. Have seen them for about £100 on ebay but then it's down to you to make sure you get the right one, and I believe there's loads of varieties. Also looking on service pox (when I had access) the original part number for mine has been superseded, hopefully to fix the problems!

I've been promising my car a new one for years

Mine's never been a problem on the MOT but it's only doing the left-indicator-coming-on-when-straighenting-up-from-a-right-turn thing and not the headlight thing or anything else, although it did refuse to let the left indicator work at all for a whole day a couple of weeks back :frown:

Is it not possible to "service" these stalks? When my old style stalk stopped indicating, teamster suggested a fix for it (plastic notch inside broke off), which I've done successfully. Seems like a lot of a money for a couple of switches. Or is it the com2000 electronics inside that fail? :?

Hi,
I also have the same problem too.
These stalks are crap compared to the D8 switchgear and a needlesswaste of cash.
Its like learning to ride a bike again as you try and cancel the winker before the steering wheel does it for you.
Learning to live with it for now...
