Looks like an LCD leakage - you'll need to get a new screen off ebay or a breakers yard

My dads 607 has the same screen and problem. Its the hot weather that does it. It goes away when the screen is turned off for a while
2000 D9 Coupé 2.0 SE EW10J4 Scarlet Red - 5 litres of oil gone in 500 miles!!! Time for a new coupe me thinks

Try switching the colours over to orange on black instead of black on orange. It ain't gonna cure the problem but it might not piss you off so much.
