A Goddess (Déesse) on stilts? :o That looks sooo straight!

According to this they assembled them here (well, probably the country next door now that doesn't feature on the road signs  ) and they're still in use but I've never seen any.

I still didn't get to see Tihi's Citroens :(

Anyway, apologies for the clarity of this pic - it went past me twice, the second time I shut my gaping mouth and managed to get my camera out to snap it (through my windscreen at about 100 yards) before it disappeared out after that truck:

I saw one steaming round the North Circular near Edmonton, complete with the massive spoiler and I thought to myself "one of these days...." May as well dream about owning a space shuttle now :(

Oh looky, only 85 grand! My house cost 90...

Last of the Mk1 Golfs was A reg, with the odd late registered mk1's at B reg (I'm a recovering Dub addict, lol)

My mate has 4 Mk2's, a tidy silver 8v, a white 8v stock car, a red resto project and a mint, stunning mk2 with a mk5 20v turbo engine in it. As well as his beemer (an E30 318 iS, which is like an M3 without the engine, and rarer)

Sometimes i miss mucking about with cars, i replaced mine with a kid, lol.

E30 318is' are common as fish in the sea...

Only unless if you are referring to the LHD only 320is which was a detuned S14 engine which was in the M3?

Nah, it's the one with the M42 1.8 16v jobbie in it, with the hollow cams, fancy crank, light weight internals etc etc. They only made them for a year and a half if i remember correctly.

Ooo, engine number talkie :)

The early M3's were a 2.3 4-pot were they not? with balancer shafts? and a dog-leg 1st gear if I recall - a real snappy performer.

I used to dream of owning a 318is - that came with a 16valve head, sports sussy and a few trim enhancements? but can't remember the bhp now...140?

There were some cracking cars in the late 80's and early 90's 8) every now and then I have a peak over at Volks Wizzards stock for a really original VW GTi.......but then I wake up and smell the coffee

Other stuff of my era was the RS Turbo's and Astra GTE 16 valvers (my mate had one of those) I had a C-reg XR2, which, at the time, was a respectable little thing for my age......took all my money too :?
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

Just noticed a bog-standard looking Vectra in the background......I'd have thought it would be a bit different in Auz? and maybe called something like a Holden Warrior or something

318iS is 140bhp, yeh. There's a lot more going on inside that engine than BMW let on to. Its pretty much a motorsport spec engine and even has a 4 branch manifold as standard. Feck all happens bellow 3.5krpm then it f00ks off quicker than a 1.8 probably should, lol. They don't appear as rare as they used to though because most E30's have ended thier life going sideways into lamp posts near groups of young women (strangely enough) and now it's only the "good" ones left, 325's, 318iS's, M3's etc that the kids couldn't afford to buy, run or insure, lol.

Indeed, the 80s and 90s was full of fun cars!

My first car was an 83 VW Scirroco GTI which i loved to bits. I had all sorts since then, mostly golf GTi's etc. I'd love a Mk1 astra GTE though. A series 1 RS turbo would be nice too.
