Had mine this morning.Past no probs.Thats every mot passed no probs. He said the handbrake was much better this year  .I had to pull the handbrake on last year as he did`nt want to snap the cable  .
I take mine to the local council station, have done since 1992,had the same tester in all that time.Only had 2 fails, wifes escort on a bailjoint nut retaining pin(they did`nt have a pin at the test station)& a bit of sill rust on a Sierra. It makes a change in this day of H & Safety that i sit in the car to do the brakes etc while up in the air on the lift.Always have done there.

My 406 flew through all 3 MOT's for me.

Mind you I'd pretty much replaced every moving part of the car in that time too :(

My D9 also went through several MOTs with nary an advisory. In this regard it was an un-stressful car to own. It's a good feeling

Mine's going in on Friday (first MOT I've put her through; she'd been given an MOT 3 weeks before I bought her last November).

I checked out the lights today; all indicators, headlights, sidelights, tail lights, brake lights, and even the little lights that light up the rear registration plate all work just fine.

The car runs sweet-as, so I'm confident she'll sail through.

I'm going to clean her thorougly inside and out before she goes to the test centre. Is there anything else I need to check up on, common little MOT fails on this type of car, etc?

Cheers
Graeme

Perished brake hoses and corroded pipes, suspension play and the no.2 pain in the rear - gaiters (CV joint and steering rack)

The no.1 pain is the handbrake

Well, I dropped off the keys about an hour ago. Waiting for the garage to call - fingers crossed!
