Rear Window Isolator Switch

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Rear Window Isolator Switch

Post by averagejo »

Hi all,

Does anyone know the pin out of this switch and how I can by pass it?

Reason being is the rear passengers cannot use the window controls whether the isolator is pressed or not - but im still able to operate their windows from the drivers controls so i was looking to pop this switch out and cross the wires to always enable them just to determine if the isolator switch is the problem or not.

thanks

Ooh, if you get me then +12V pins for the connector on your drivers switch, then I shall work through and let you know what you'd need to do to get it sorted.

Do you mean these?

Btw I had the switch apart 'cos it looked a bit grubby. Then I put it back together again sharpish

From what I've worked out so far it looks like the wire which is in pin 8 on the 16 pin connector on the back of the switch.

so basically liven up pin 8 with one of the +12v pins and that should overide the rear window isolator (just so im sure )

Worth a try. Just give it a quick check first by bridging the pins to check that nothing shorts and then you can't blame me for breaking your car!
