Isuse, you want sauce with that? Off you go then: "Useless lubbish no werky"...

Btw anyone else with the dead drives? I was thinking it was the aerodynamic ISA cable bit the dust (not the first, wonder where it was made...) however it's odd the bios sees it ok but windows doesn't.

If the BIOS sees them Steve the partitions may have become corrupted...
Go into "Computer Management" and see if the drives are listed there. That's assuming you haven't lost your boot drive!

Ah. If it's seeing the drives as devices in Windows the partitions must have been damaged or deleted.
If there is data on them that you haven't backed up then GetDataBack is fantastic and works. $79 to buy the NTFS version but you can try it for free in read only mode.

Frustrating :( It'll probably do what everything I have trouble installing does - suddenly it'll just start working for no apparent reason

I thought you could get "chip" people to disable the whole FAP/Anti-pollution fault malarkey completely?

Jury kinda still out, (or maybe split up & wandered off home)
I spoke to a guy in Ponypridd, who said he could do it, but didn't inspire a great deal of confidence so I thought I'd wait for a true pioneer. Meanwhile one of our coupe cousins heard tell of another in Doncaster, who it seems has modded his software, but for £320 IIRC.

My current problem is not necessarily FAP / Eolys related, I'm just trying to avoid paying the stealer to diagnose it for me, (or more likely fund teaching someone who's never seen a 406 before, how to reach the wrong conclusion)......

It's a difficult one doggy this. I sort of think that perhaps the ECU controlling the whole process is kinda thinking "hang on this filter's never blocking up, and it don't want regenerating anymore....there must be a problem" maybe it 'counts' the number of failed attempts at regen? maybe your fluid has run out? (doesn't it tell you that?) I dunno...... :(

Regens are, AFAIK, more fequently triggered by increased differential pressure, but are also initiated on the basis of kms since last regen - there's a kind of sliding scale which starts at 1200-1500 kms with a new FAP and reduces steadily throughout its life, as the various ecu's try to reach a compromise between keeping the FAP clean and making the Eolys last. Mine certainly still tries to do it, but much less orften, (characterised by a smell of singed eggsauce mounting rubbers when you stop).
I've heard it maintains a count of failed regens, (which I guess all mine are) and presumably at some point will complain about it......

Mine has a FAP blocked warning light and can generate, 'UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER' & 'DIESEL ADDITIVE LOW' messages - none of which it is doing. :?

Fluid won't run out as additive pump is disconnected, but it still 'thinks' it's being added. I realise it will complain when it exceeds the number of 'shots' it thought it had to start with. :frown: It's also got a low level sensor, but that's still wired in.

The Chinese are running through thier exhaustive list of things-to-try-that-I've-already-thought-of at the rate of one per day.

Latest being, 'prease tly it on anotha ka'. Amazingly I don't know anyone with another Pug - 'cept you lot!

(My bro's D8 1.9 TD isn't likely to prove owt & daughter + 206 are now living in Herts).

I know it's a big ask, but anybody within limping distance of NN17, (home) or PE29, (work) willing to offer their 'guinea-pug' to prove a point?

Another PSA or any car in general? I get what they're trying to do but, well, it's a bit presumptive :?
