Just ordered up my French style pressed plates so pics later in the week. Also recently fitted a K&N panel filter, so thanks to Mountain for that.

How easy was it to remove the panel around the air con controls and the one around the mfd etc

Not difficult at all. The radio was the most complicated part as I've got the original radio all sprayed up to match, should I decide to go against an aftermarket unit (can't see why I would though!).

Righto, French plates arrived on Thursday, cost £20 from Plate-Mate on eBay. Bargain, anyway here's what they look like:





And here's what they look like on the car, and I've washed and polished the car up specially.

Yep, original plates in the boot for if/when I get pulled over for them.

Nobody seems to bother - mine are equally 'dodgy'.
KInda kept the old ones in case, but made the added economy of 'storing' one on the trailer.

I've been expecting trouble with my plates, as the spacing is incorrect i.e the plate starts P10 D, so had the D moved over so reads P1OD, but absolutely nothing ( better go touch some wood now )
It was suggested at the time I had them done to have a correct spare set, and if got pulled just say i've been a car show at the weekend

A mate of mine has had trouble though as he runs a dog van, and has the number plate P16 COB with a white mounting cover on the 1 to make it look more like an i and got a fine. Maybe the pig, so I mean copper who pulled him took it personally

However, I personally have no problem with plates as long as it's legible. I once was behind a car for 5 miles before I actually figured out what it should be - to me that is very wrong, and should be had for it, but as long as it is easily readable then no problem. That's what I like about my plate, it says what it's got to say without having to mess with it.

do the splitters from a laguna fit perfect or do they require bending to fit good ?

Nah the splitters are not quite right at the corners but they're OK, I didn't modifiy mine at all, just lined it up and screwed it down...

Mine ocasionally touches the floor around speed bumps and steep junctions etc, you must get quite a bit of that Chief with it being lowered 'nall

Kinda used to driving low cars, but it does catch a bit on speed humps and sharp inclines(i.e. multistory carparks) like Dai says, but I just go at them slowly and at an angle which reduces the scraping. I'm not too fussed though as they're only rubber so bounce back albeit with some extra scratching, and they're cheap and easy to replace when it does start to look knackered. To get the corners ars close as possible, cut V shapes out of the top where you'll be bending it to help get the curve closer. One side of mine is better than the other, and I've been meaning to redo that other side since I originally fit the splitter.
