Help! Industrument panel change

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Help! Industrument panel change

Post by Mulderon »

Hello first message on this forum I need your advice guys, I bought a speedo clocks with white dials out from 2003 reg HDI. I want those white dials badly but there are some possible errors I can get while doing it, let me say first of all my car is petrol and this is hdi clocks so rev counter ups to 6k while my dark ones 7k and my panel shows units in meters, this one shows milage SO what do you advise me to do, should I get rid of my original one completely and fit the new one or should I take the white dails off that one and fit my own?? Ok speedo shows milage and km together but how could I get the rev counter show the proper values?? pls help!

my car 2001 reg 406 coupe 2.0

Pretty sure you're not gonna be able to alter the input for the rev counter without figuring out the different voltages and then calculating whether or not a resistor would alter the reading.

Personally I would advise getting some clocks from a car with the same engine as yours.

There are no white clocks for 2.0 orginally, so it is what I can get best, what about only changing the dials?

Would white clocks from a V6 not be a closer match? You could always just try sticking them in and seeing what happens...
