Instrument pannel dead!!!!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Instrument pannel dead!!!!

Post by sonicspanner »

Hi just had my instrument pannel die on me, no speedo, tacho, fuel gauge or water temp, and few other warning indications, tracked it to the Instrument control unit. Does any one know where this uniy is located behind the dash, or is it part of the instrument pannel (so the hole instrument pannel needs replacing) :arrow  8) :arrowl:

Pull the instrument cluster out (3 screws to remove the plastic surround - be careful with the vents - then 4 screws on the cluster itself). Either the plugs are dirty/not in properly and just need re-seating, or you'll find a dry solder joint on the pcb behind it which needs re-soldering. The latter is quite common
